Is Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 the hardest piece? ›

Why it's hard: “Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2” isn't the hardest piece ever, but it's certainly one of the most well-known and was made famous by Tom and Jerry.

No. 2 is defintely the harder of the two, technically and musically.

'La Campanella', which translates as 'little bell', comes from a larger work – the Grandes études de Paganini – and is famous for being one of the most difficult pieces ever written for piano. The piece's technical demands include enormous jumps for the right hand played at an uncomfortably speedy tempo.

HR 2 is much harder on the technical level than La Campanella. La Campanella most difficult technique is the trills hands down.

Grades 2 and 3 are early intermediate. Grades 4 and 5 are intermediate levels. Grade 6 is late intermediate, Grade 7 is early advanced. Grade 8 is advanced.

Clair de Lune is not specifically on an exam syllabus for ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) or TCL (Trinity College London), but it is around grade 8 level difficulty. It is a piece which requires a high level of musicality to interpret well with accuracy and nuance.

Beethoven Virus is an improvisation of Beethoven's original work and it is now modernized. Very interesting version I should say. Now this version is around Grade 3, the challenges are octaves and semiquaver notes.
